Down The Rabbit Hole of Emission Control We Go

Strict regulations are coming to the energy sector, specifically the coal-fired plants that were once plentiful, and but it’s not a done deal yet. These new regulations that push to cut total CO2 output by almost a third face a long battle in the courts. The companies controlling these plants have a lot of green and will use it to protect themselves and that might tick a few people off, so much so, something drastic my happen. It hasn’t happened in a long time, but if enough is made of the dire straits of our environment, is a Government takeover of the energy sector out the question?

Permission Granted, Government Controlled

Americans are working again, thanks to the government. It’s not that government is doing anything to spur growth, in fact, it’s more like they’ve taken control of the hiring and firing. More and more, Americans have to get accredited, licensed, permitted, etc…to work simple jobs. The permission to work should come from the employer, not the govt.

The Risky War On The 2nd Amendment

A quiet, shadowy war on guns is at hand, thanks to the DoJ & FDIC. Under a program designed to limit risk and fraud following the ’08 market collapse, the Department of Justice and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation have coordinated on guidelines for determining credit eligibility, which seems nice, but it’s not. This collaborative effort is being used as a guise to block credit for gun manufactures and sellers. What’s the risk? There isn’t any, but the DoJ wants to keep guns out of American’s hands, Mexican hands are a different story.

‘Global Warming/Climate Change’ Or A Golden Goose For The Well Connected

Humanity is destroying the planet, and in-turn, itself or an underdeveloped market sector needed a boost in federal investment and the forerunners just happen to have friends in high places; these are two realities that exist today. One reality is a discussion about science in its infancy that has yet to be entirely thought out (we discovered fire eons ago, but the first matches were a recent invention). The other is the reality of the situation at hand: cronies of the current administration (and the previous one, Al Gore) working in technology stumbled across some very interesting and plausible science ‘proving’ that humans were destroying the world. These cronies developed an argument, brought it to their powerful friends and got rich off the windfall investments in their technology that could ‘save’ US all. Given the historical ‘pay for play’ atmosphere in DC, which is the more likely scenario?
