  • If At First You Don’t Succeed, Jam It Down Their Throats

    December 18, 2013 • Top Story • 1427

The newest move to save Obamacare is….an ‘adult’ in a onesie. Yep, a onesie. If you log on to BarackObama.com/talk – you will be greeted with one of the dumbest ploys every seen.  The fine folks at Organizing for Action have put together a full-proof guide to talking about Obamacare with your kids. Within in the guide they provide tips, talking points and scripted conversations so parents everywhere can forget about the true meaning of the holidays and talk about the things that matter with their kids, healthcare. But they’re overlooking a huge piece of Obamacare -anyone under the age of 26 can stay on their parents insurance plan.  So, in theory, the ‘kids’ they are targeting are 27+, and either Organizing for Action is failing to give 27 year olds any credit/responsibility for managing their own lives, or future is doomed to be run by pajama wearing morons.

The United States has struggled making friends in recent years, in no small part because of our insatiable need to bomb/invade, and things keep getting worse. Everybody’s favorite computer geek, Edward Snowden, is taking his talents South, at least he’d like to.  Snowden is looking to receive asylum in Brazil in exchange for helping the government there fight the NSA/CIA spying that has taped, hacked and cracked communications of just about everyone in Brazil, including President Dilma Rousseff.  Land of the Free, home of the Brave.

  • DC Isn’t Broken, It’s Fixed

    December 16, 2013 • Top Story • 1271

If the billions of dollars wasted on ‘grants’ to green energy donors (Solyndra?) that happen to be mega-donors to President Obama aren’t proof that everything in DC is paid for by lobbyists- the newest member of the ass-backwards think tank that is the White House, is none other than a lifelong lobbyist with direct ties to multiple green energy firms.  Meet John Podesta.

  • God Wants Ohio to Fail

    December 13, 2013 • Top Story • 1289

Ohio Governor John Kasich has come out saying that his fear of God is what has lead to the expansion of Medicaid in his state. That’s a reassuring revelation given America’s political landscape these days. Using the ‘Kasich Model’ -God is the ultimate scapegoat. Rather than pass sensible reforms and spending money in a responsible fashion, it’s easier to hinge your policy on the will of God.  Besides, when the money runs out, who is going to take God to task?

  • Budget Deal Misses the Forest for the Trees

    December 12, 2013 • Top Story • 1427

Before anyone starts patting themselves on the back over the latest budget deal, take a look at the real numbers.  This ‘deal’ claims to save $85 billion via cuts, over the next 10 years.  Contrast that to the $63b in additional spending the first year alone, and you can see why any worthwhile economist is calling shenanigans on the deal. One thing is for sure, Congress couldn’t be trusted to budget lemonade stand.

  • Shameful Incompetence At An Incomprehensible Level

    December 11, 2013 • Top Story • 1373

The least productive Congress ever has put together a ‘blockbuster’ budget deal that would have Howard Houdini scratching his head. The smoke and mirrors laden Ryan-Murray budget deal is nothing more than a feeble attempt to garner some validation for a Congress that has failed over, and over, and over, and over again to come up with a workable budget that avoids a catastrophic collapse. This deal does nothing to fix things, it only kicks the can down the road, per usual. And they want us to trust them with redistributing our wealth?

  • Fire All the Firemen

    December 10, 2013 • Top Story • 1391

More fallout from the Affordable Care Act – this time first responders are in the line of fire. The employer mandate encompassing ‘businesses’ that employ 50+ people will come down on ‘volunteer’ fire departments all across nation. The US Department of Labor considers ‘volunteer’ firefighters -volunteers, but the IRS begs to differ. The IRS technically considers firefighters ’employees’ and thus small time departments all around the nation are going to have to choose between paying huge fines or keeping the lights on when someone calls. In the private world, a plan like Obamacare -one that has this much fallout- would cost a lot people in charge their jobs.

  • Welcome to Detroit – Brought to You Buy China

    December 9, 2013 • Top Story • 1330

As the embattled shell of a metropolis that is Detroit sorts out its bankruptcy, Chinese real estate investors are flocking to the Motor City and snatching up land by the city block. While it’s good news for the world that China is shifting capital abroad, it’s bad news for Motown. After decades of corrupt government oversight, the city has been reduced to a shell of its former glory and foreign powers buying up land for pennies on the dollar are only going to make things worse.  Detroit’s motto- ‘Speramus Meliora; Resurget Cineribus’ (We Hope For Better Things; It Shall Rise From the Ashes) – is rather fitting.

  • The Proof is in the Eye of the Beholder

    December 6, 2013 • Top Story • 1575

Global-warming ‘proof’ is going the way of the dodo bird, but that just means the ‘warmists’ will have to change their definition of what ‘proof’ is. Every time there is a major weather event -like Superstorm Sandy -that lays waste to civilization, the ‘warmists’ come out of the woodwork to point fingers.  However, when you stack storm data against recorded history, the ‘proof’ evaporates into recurring trends and nominal weather cycles. As Slick Willie would say – ‘it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.’

  • Wage War

    December 5, 2013 • Top Story • 1504

Around the country today, hard working Americans are using their voice to impact the law of the land. Kudos to them, demonstrations like today’s are what makes America great. Unfortunately, national labor unions are using these demonstrations to further their cause under the auspice of making things better for all American. But that’s not true. If minimum wage jumped to the proposed $15 – the cost of a cheeseburger at McDonald’s would jump to $3.  That might not seem like much, but that is 3x increase for one of the cheapest meal choices in America, extrapolate that out to everything else and you have $30 pizzas, $10-$15 a gal for milk, etc. What a world that would be.
