  • Who Do You Trust?

    January 17, 2014 • Top Story • 1466

It’s a simple question, who do you trust? Do you trust a broad reaching program with hundreds of intricate layers, most barely understood by those that oversea them? Do you trust a court system that promises to be on your side, but has zero risk of losing their power? Do you trust an Executive branch that brought your Healthcare.gov? If you answered ‘I do’ to any of those questions, you’re a fool.

  • Made In America, Owned By China

    January 16, 2014 • Top Story • 1371

Americans lead the world in one thing above all, the creation of debt.  It’s true, we out spend most of the modern world and save like it’s the end of the world.  The scariest part, China owns that debt at record levels, according to a report leaked yesterday.  It may be time to add ‘brush up on your Mandarin’ to your 2014 resolutions.

  • Economic Freedom, Not For US

    January 15, 2014 • Top Story • 1313

The report is out and the US is not as free we used to be.  The 2014 Index of Economic Freedom, released by the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal, has USA coming in at lucky #12, not even in the top 10.  And it’s no surprise really. Between terrible Fed policies and a Govt that went 3+ years without a working budget, it’s amazing we’re even in the top 20.

  • They’re Coming For Your Home

    January 14, 2014 • Top Story • 1098

The wise ones at the Dept. Of Energy are pushing a plan that would require all homes to have energy use ratings, similar to those found on cars.  While this seems innocuous at face value, it’s only the beginning.  Consider this, in California you are taxed at a higher rate when you exercise your American right to buy a ‘gas guzzling’ car.  It’s not a far cry to believe our homes are next.

  • When Following The Leader Goes Wrong

    January 13, 2014 • Top Story • 1194

Many of US fall into the same trap, we see a flashy title from a big company or institution and we lose sight of what trait really defines a good leader: The ability to lead. Take the Fed for example, it’s a brain trust of people who could probably wallpaper the Oval office in degrees, but can they really lead? None of them have every proven it, yet our financial futures lie in their illustrious pedigrees. Just because your a member of the right ‘club’ – doesn’t mean your fit to lead your way out of paper bag.

  • How Do Elite Millionaires Connect With Average US?

    January 10, 2014 • Top Story • 1640

The answer is, they don’t.  That’s why this country is where it is, almost a third of population out of the work force, the middle class is being crushed by terrible policies, and the Federal Debt is an unimaginable number. To find a raw deal like this, you’d have to rewind back to this great country’s inception and those forces that drove US to throw off our ‘leaders’ are at work today. How do we change this? Information. It sounds cliche, but the further we pull back the lid on what is being done to US, the sooner we get back to what makes this country great: the open and free pursuit of happiness, in whatever form it may take.

  • 2 Different Strategies and 1 BIG Mistake

    January 9, 2014 • Top Story • 1882

Let’s get this out of the way, Chris Christie is the big mistake, pun intended. He has the charisma, he has the right friends, but he is a fool for thinking he could run for the highest office in the land and not have every skeleton, BIG or small, dragged from his closet.  Silver lining,  Mollie Hemingway over at The Federalist points out that Chris Christie’s little mistake is a prime example of how much control politicians have over our lives, and we have no idea.  The fact that anyone could cause a traffic jam for some stupid political gain is scary, far scarier than any NSA mass data sweep.

Robert Frost once wrote about ‘TWO roads diverged..’ and he goes on to consider two seemingly comparable paths that lay before him, today we stand at the same threshold. Path the first follows the over utilized strategy of smoke and mirrors taxing tricks like  TIFF districts and Tax Free Zones. Strategies like these manipulate demand by falsely inflating the demand for businesses in areas where demand isn’t. The other path follows the strategy that businesses should be allowed to determine their fate, not be forced by the Govt to reduced wage hours to meet some superfluous mandate. Which path we take has already been chosen for us, but the beauty of this country and our Constitution, it’s never too late to turn back.

  • 50 Years Later:The War on Poverty’s Exit Strategy Still A Mystery

    January 8, 2014 • Top Story • 1495

50 years ago, a wealthy white man announced a ‘plan’ to end poverty in this country. Today, a wealthy black man has picked up that charge and run with it.  The only constant (besides the poverty rate in this country, which hasn’t moved much at all) is that a rich man in DC is deciding to spend your money on plan that has been a proven failure.

  • Getting Paid With Our Money For 2yrs Is Not Enough?

    January 7, 2014 • Top Story • 1632

The further extension of unemployment benefits is on it’s way to being legal, but is it the right answer? In theory, it’s a the right thing to do, but so was the Iraq War, and much like the Iraq War, there isn’t an exit strategy. We’ve been down this road before the first time unemployment benefits were extended in ’08, it was a temporary fix for a terrible problem. But here we are again, the cycle continues, we keep paying.
