  • When Perception Becomes Reality, It’s Over

Skyrocketing costs and a lackluster job market have diminished the value of a college degree, at least the general public thinks so.  You see, when people think something sucks, it doesn’t matter if it’s true, it’s too late.  The future of secondary education in this country is going the way of healthcare, it costs too much and the value is being questioned.  Maybe we need a comprehensive secondary education exchange, SecondaryEducation.gov?

  • Indentured College Grads Owe Fed Record $$$

    November 6, 2013 • Top Story • 1278

Since 2009, the outstanding federal loan debt owed to the government has jumped by 463 percent.  This is a prime example of what happens when the Gov’t meddles in open markets. Traditionally, those who really wanted a college education worked, saved and did whatever they could to enlighten themselves via the college experience.  The demand for said enlightenment, historically,  has been steadily increasing at a stable rate.  The Government, in their infinite wisdom, saw this demand and decided it need to be greater.  Thus leading to federal loans handed out like MDMA at a fraternity on Friday night.  Now we have an artificially inflated demand, slack jawed collegians, and a plethora of liberal arts majors out of work.  Good thing we have an abundance of welfare nets and HealthCare.gov.

  • The Record Gov’t Spending Award Goes Too…

    November 5, 2013 • Top Story • 1297

The beleaguered Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS -the same group that runs Obamacare) is making headlines again, this time for setting the record for the most money ever spent by a federal agency in a single year.  They spent $1.1 trillion, to put that in perspective, that is $3180 per American.  Maybe they can offset some of that spending by selling “Gov’t Spent Trillions and All I Got Was This T-Shirt” souvenirs.

  • Liar, Liar, Website On-fire

    November 4, 2013 • Top Story • 1306

It doesn’t take an expert to tell you that the President mislead Americans about the Affordable Care Act,  but one such expert swears will tell you Obama outright lied.  It’s safe to assume that most Americans just assume their leaders are lying, but it’s about time we stop rolling over and taking it. Remember what we did to Nixon?

  • The Cat’s Out of the Bag, And Will Be Redistributed

    November 1, 2013 • Top Story • 1221

It what seems like a blatant slap in the face to capitalists everywhere, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services FY2014 budget is asking for $800m to “ensure the integrity of programs that redistribute tens of billions of dollars.”  Yep, they’re not even hiding it anymore.  Speaking of not being able to hide, if you plan on mocking Government agencies like the NSA, expect to be targeted for intimidation.  Heinrich Himmler must be proud.

  • Authoritarian Obamacare Can’t Seal the Deal for Big ‘O’

    October 31, 2013 • Top Story • 1260

Once again, Vladimir Putin has ‘one upped’ Barack Obama, this time in Forbes’ power rankings.  In the annual list ranking the world’s most powerful leaders, the US President has slipped from the #1 spot for the first time in three years.  The real tragedy is that Putin hasn’t received this accolade in the past, being the ruler of a ‘free’ Russia and all.  If the Obamacare roll out had been ”glitch’ free,  would Obama have shored up that #1 spot?

  • Bailed Out & Screwed Over

    October 30, 2013 • Top Story • 1355

For years, the US Government has been in the business of picking winners and losers, and boy did they pick a loser in GM.  The newest data on the auto bailout of ’09 is in and US taxpayers got a lemon of a deal, lending almost $50b to GM and losing almost $10b in the deal.   But hey, it’s mostly China’s money, right?

  • 50% Is Good Enough For Gov’t Work

    October 29, 2013 • Top Story • 1368

This may come as no surprise, but according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Government employees are 50% more likely to be missing from work.  Let that sink in.  This isn’t a statistical anomaly, this is a cut & dry indicator of the difference between the public sector and their private counterparts.   Must be nice.

  • New Math: The Numbers Don’t Lie, Unless You Do

    October 28, 2013 • Top Story • 1674

George Orwell must be beaming, but we’ll get to that.  But first, there are two startling facts about the Affordable Care Act roll out that should make everyone worried. Fact #1: The number of people being directed toward Medicaid enrollment by state run healthcare exchanges is WAY above the estimated returns. Which means, already ballyhooed shortfalls of Medicaid are going to accelerate in disastrous ways.  Fact #2: The White House has touted a stat that shows Obamacare has had almost ZERO impact on the 30hr work week.  The kicker, the data they have been using to draw that conclusion includes employees working 29.5-29.75hr/wk.  Oddly enough, many companies have reduced their employee’s hours to 29.5-29.75hr/wk to avoid fines for not offering healthcare.  Math is hard. New Math is easy.

Under the never-ending wisdom of the Federal Government, parents are being told that the lunch they pack is not good enough.  In connection with new federal nutritional guidelines regarding the meals kids eat in school, parents around the country are receiving notices that the brown bags they lovingly pack and send along with their little bundles of joy are not up to snuff, unless a doctor says so.  Too bad Obamacare has made it impossible to see a doctor, or maybe that was the plan all along…
