  • The Key To Downsizing Govt

    April 9, 2014 • Top Story • 1260

The key to downsizing government lies in guys like Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) and the reports he puts out.  The Senator puts out two annual reports that are of particular note, the Wastebook and the Duplication Report.  While the Wastebook is a wealth of stupid spending and questionable grant programs, the Duplication Report is a outline of the multiple different governmental agencies doing the same thing.  To date, the retiring Senator and the rest of the non-partisans at the Government Accountability Office have found 188 areas where the fat could be trimmed and save US tens of billions of dollars, a year.  But that’d make too much sense.

  • Hypocritical Wealth

    April 8, 2014 • Top Story • 6189

The Left wants you to believe that they are party of the poor, working class and that the Right is bunch of out of touch, billionaires.  Ha.  The truth is, both sides are out of touch, wealthy hypocrites, and so our their donors.  If you picked, at random, a Super PAC on either side of the aisle, odds are they have at least one billionaire  on their donor list.  Next time you see a campaign ad telling candidate ‘A’ is out of touch and candidate ‘B’ is a working class American, remember where the money to broadcast that ad came from.

  • Cork It On The Jobs Celebration

    April 7, 2014 • Top Story • 1347

The Jobs Report came out last Friday and it’s surprising there wasn’t another Rose Garden victory lap by the Commander & Chief.  Maybe he knows the truth behind the numbers?  The truth is, that even though we hit ‘milestones’ like exceeding the number of private-sector jobs in America just before the recession took hold, we are WAY behind any true growth.  In reality – since the recession began to drag US down, we’ve added 11,000 total jobs, but the labor force has grown by 12 million.  If we were on leaking ship we’d be fish food by now.

  • When The Govt Chooses Not To Watch You

    April 4, 2014 • Top Story • 1607

By now we’ve all heard about the big, bad NSA snooping on our phone calls and skimming our emails, but there’s is a bit of oversight (or lack there of) that is much more concerning.  In Iowa, the powers that be have actively chosen to hand over your tax dollars to citizens they deem worthy, in return, those citizens must prove absolutely nothing.  They don’t have to account for what they spend, where they spend it, or what they spend it on.  You’d think that would be the most acceptable use of oversight in this country, but you’d be wrong.

  • Cashing In on Free Speech

    April 3, 2014 • Top Story • 1687

The Supreme Court loosened the reigns on campaign donations limits for individuals this week, eliminating the aggregate cap, all the in the name of Free Speech.  While they may have a point, this ruling will not be good for politics, at least not for a while.   This ruling will certainly allow the super rich to have a super influence on who is elected to what office, but it will eventually lead to diminished contributions and political corruption. You see, people with considerable wealth don’t like to give up their money without the promise of a great return, and they certainly don’t want to spend lots of it.  So here are two plausible effects of eliminating contribution caps: 1) The cost of influencing an election becomes SO expensive that the ultra wealthy themselves decided it is not worth wasting their money when a smart tax lawyer can get them the same return. 2) As the cost of running a campaign skyrockets, more and more soulless politicians will be overcome by greed and get in trouble taking from their own coffers.  But hey, Free Speech isn’t really free, right?

  • Free Unfairness From Political Foolishness

    April 2, 2014 • Top Story • 1457

Sen Dick Durbin (D-IL) was on the Senate floor yesterday ranting about the dangers of ‘Free Enterprise.’  The Senator from the Land of Lincoln said ‘”The free enterprise system is a strong system,” he said, but it “created unfairness and injustice when it came to health care.”  He went on to say that the government needed to step in to fix the problems and pointed to the ‘success’  of Obamacare.  Unfairness? Injustice?  What is fair about taking away choice?  What is just about dictating where money is spent?  The Senator is certainly living up to his name.

  • Model UN Scare Tactics

    April 1, 2014 • Top Story • 1335

The United Nations is at it again, trying to scare US and the rest of the world into taxation.  This week the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is releasing a doomsday report that claims global warming will end US all.  But there is hope, if we allow the UN to tax US and allow them to regulate our emissions.  Except, the IPCC lies. According to a review of the IPCC’s current and previous reports by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), the IPCC omit and tweaks data to only prove their agenda.  Beware the scary UN.

  • Thoughts on Market Leninism

    March 31, 2014 • Top Story • 1220

Politics in America is a broken, complicated mess, so much so that barely half of all Americans show up to vote when it matters and less than 1 in 5 when the stakes aren’t so high.  But when we do show up, the guys we elect only make things worse and it’s this disenfranchisement makes lets terrible alternatives look better.  Alternatives like ‘Market Leninism’, wherein freedoms are traded for the ‘security’ of an omnipotent nanny state.  But the joke is on US, the nanny state is run by the same ineffective buffoons that sold us down the river.

  • WTF-EPA

    March 28, 2014 • Top Story • 1488

The EPA is ripping US off.  The EPA’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC) Ozone Review Panel apparently suffers from MASSIVE conflicts of interest.  This blackhole of bureaucracy at the EPA reviews grants and ‘scientific’ proposals to decide whether or not they are worthy of you tax dollars.  The problem?  The reviewers are reviewing their own work!  It’s one greedy hand washing the other, it’s no wonder we waste so much money on ‘green’ energy.

  • You Don’t Know Dick

    March 27, 2014 • Top Story • 1235

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin (R) has made some news lately regarding his condemnation of Vladimir Putin, but there is more to Dick than timely fervor over Ukraine, a lot more.  For instance, Dick has voted 3 times to increase federal spending to fight ‘Global Warming’ and has himself sponsored legislation to establish a UN ‘Climate Change Convention.’  Durbin has also voted numerous times to force companies to fund green energy initiatives.  In Durbin’s 30 years in office, a span that George Washington go to war over, the debt in this nation has skyrocketed, education levels have plummeted, and healthcare has become a joke.  See Dick, see Dick run, see Dick run this country into the ground.  Bad Dick.
