  • The Middle Class Is Bottoming Out

    April 23, 2014 • Top Story • 1606

This is the most frightening data set in a long time.  New research on after-tax middle-class incomes around the world is out and it paints a sad picture of this once unstoppable country.  The American middle class is being outpaced in wealth by almost everyone, especially Canada, Britain, Ireland, and the Dutch.   Those four nations have seen double digit growth wealth growth of their middle class since the year 2000, US on the other hand, less half of one percent growth.  We’ve also seen an undeniable decline in economic freedoms in the same span, maybe there’s a correlation there?

  • Cashing In On Oversight

    April 22, 2014 • Top Story • 1513

Remember those whiny folks pounding drums, demanding more regulations, and for bankers to pay thier fair share…Occupy something or other?  Well they missed the mark, turns out the bankers on Wall Street aren’t making all the big money, it’s the regulators.  Yep, the government backed pencil pushers who define policy and oversee the banking industry average more money per head than those they oversee.  Who would have thought the Occupy folks would have missed that?

  • The Myth Of The Income Inequality Caused By Capitalism

    April 21, 2014 • Top Story • 1791

Behold the ultra elite, 1%!  So mysterious how they become so wealthy….or it’s actually Capitalism at work.  A new study out of Cornell breaks down the evil cycle of wealth and it’s pretty enlightening. The finding show that 12% of the population will spend at least one year in the top 1%, while 73% will spend at least a year in the top 20%.  And this is all because Capitalism gives everyone an opportunity to innovate some new idea and breach the  upper echelon of society.

  • The ‘Media Circus’ Has a New Ringleader…

    April 18, 2014 • Top Story • 1392

…and it is Jon Stewart.  Jay Carney told reporters that President Obama’s interview in 2012 with Jon Stewart, just before the election, was the toughest the President has done.  Let that sink in.  When asked what he thought that demonstrated to him, Carney had some well rehearsed statement about Stewart’s intellect and ability to reach young people, blah, blah, blah.  But what that really tells US, is the mainstream media is a waste of space.  So far gone are the days when real reporters caught Presidents doing shady things the darkness of DC hotels.  Now it’s a circus act aimed at entertaining, not informing.

  • Regulating As An Art Form

    April 17, 2014 • Top Story • 1294

The President gets a lot of flak for failing to deliver, but there is one area where he is excelling: regulations.  Last year DC set a new single year record by adding 26,417 pages new pages of regulation, a feat never before seen.  When pundits and wiseguys ask why the economy is moving so slowly, just look at the glut of the Federal Register.  At 79,311 pages, it is estimated that the economic impact of compliance is $1.9 trillion annually.  That’s a lot of green to comply with a lot of red.

A little known fact of census manipulation will mean great things for Obamacare.  At the Census Bureau, it’s been business as usual for almost thirty year years, but then came the Affordable Care Act, now things are changing.  It’s not just a single change too, it’s a conveniently timed complete revamp which will make it impossible to accurately determine changes in healthcare and insurance information, such as enrollment.  The numbers don’t lie, unless you make them.

  • Can Silicon Valley Save Capitol Hill?

    April 15, 2014 • Top Story • 1329

There is a problem with politics, it isn’t scaling right.  For too long, the bureaucracy in this country has vastly outgrown the voting public’s ability to watch or understand what is going on in the halls of Congress.  And it’s not just on Capitol Hill, it’s at city hall, in county offices, on school boards, everywhere people with ‘power’ congregate to decide how to govern US.  But one Silicon Valley start-up wants to change that with old fashioned American ingenuity.  Quietly swelling Brigade Media would like to scale up the ability for average Americans understanding of who our politicians really are, using technology to fill in the gaps, and let’s hope they succeed.

  • Head For The Hills

    April 14, 2014 • Top Story • 2294

On the eve of Tax Day, let’s ponder why more companies are leaving US for foreign lands.  For starters, our extremely complex tax laws make it easy to pack up shop and head over seas through a process called ‘inversion.’  Look at Walgreens, they are a big time player in retail pharma, yet they are exploring a very enticing deal that would save them saving millions in tax revenue by moving to Europe.  The confusing laws that will keep so many of US up tonight and tomorrow scrambling to pay our ‘fair share’ to Uncle Sam, are the same confusing laws that entice companies like Walgreens to head for the hills, maybe if things were simpler, it would be harder spend our money on a federal level?

Kathleen Sebelius’s resignation is a golden moment for those oppose Obamacare.  Essentially, Sebelius becomes patient zero from the fallout of a poorly executed, haphazardly planned, and socialist policy.  If this mess of a ‘healthcare’ fix can force the person who oversaw it’s commission bails on it, a week after it hit its ‘goals’, does anyone else stand a chance?  Doesn’t look good.

  • The March of Doom (Brought to You By Progressive Policies)

    April 10, 2014 • Top Story • 1475

We’re doomed and we have the failure of progressive policies to thank.  The good ‘ole boys on Capitol Hill have been passing and writing laws that are eroding our freedoms and dissolving American Exceptionalism.  The America that made the world what it is today is being driven toward self-destruction and there may be nothing we can do.  Strap in, we’re doomed.
