Looking back on the Federal Shutdown of 2013, it looks like things weren’t so bad. While hundreds of thousands furloughed federal employees were at home (worrying about their bills), the Government still managed to spend 72% of what they would nominally pay in salaries and 95% of what is due in insurance premiums. Apparently the sky didn’t fall as hard as we were told, unless of course you are veteran or a national parks enthusiast. Chicken Little/Hillary Clinton 2016 anyone?
